Gasoline prices of Costa Rica

The price of regular and super gas has gone up and the price of diesel has dropped in Costa Rica.

Semana Santa in Costa Rica

Many businesses close the entire week and everybody shuts down Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Many Costa Ricans travel to the beach with their families during Easter Week. Especially on the weekends the routes to and from the beaches will be congested.

730 additional traffic policemen will be on duty during Semana Santa. Furthermore there will be 630 doctors, paramedics and volunteers from the Red Cross involved in the Semana Santa effort.

The Traffic police can be reached at 800-TRANSITO (800-87267486). Call 911 (911 Emergency Line provides a bilingual service!) if you need urgent medical treatment or in case of emergency. You can call for an ambulance, police or firefighters using this number.

No alcohol will be allowed to be sold anywhere on Holy Thursday and Good Friday. No business establishments, including restaurants, bars and supermarkets, are allowed to serve or sell alcohol.
