Gasoline prices of Costa Rica

The prices of super gas and diesel have dropped in Costa Rica.

This popular place is located close to Liberia. From the parking lot a short trail leads down to the Llanos de Cortes Waterfall.

 

 

The rainy season is about to start

At the moment the country is in the transition from dry season to rainy season. The meteorologists predict the start of the rainy season between May 6th and May 11th. The rainy season first starts in the southern part of the country, a bit later in the central valley and at the end in the northern part of Costa Rica.

In the past days it had repeatedly rained on the central pacific coast and in the central valley.

 

The weather in Costa Rica

In San Jose in May the minimum temperature is statistically 64.8°F (18.2°C) and the maximum temperature is 78.8°F (26°C). The average rainfall for the whole month is 239 millimeters and it rains an average of 21 days.

In Liberia in May the minimum temperature is statistically 74.3°F (23.5°C) and the maximum temperature is 93.2°F (34°C). The average rainfall for the whole month is 198 millimeters and it rains an average of 15 days.

In Limon in May the minimum temperature is statistically 72.9°F (22.7°C) and the maximum temperature is 86.7°F (30.4°C). The average rainfall for the whole month is 335 millimeters and it rains an average of 23 days.

 

The new traffic laws in Costa Rica

The reform of the traffic laws in Costa Rica still is not completed. Till now only the laws that are related to driving under the influence of alcohol have changed. The best is not drink at all when you drive.

A person with a blood alcohol level of 0.5 receives a ¢ 227.000 fine and a driver's license suspension of 2 years.

A person with a blood alcohol level of 0.75, or more, receives jail time of 2-3 years, a driver's license suspension of 2-10 years, impoundment of the vehicle and will have to do communal work.
