Guiones Beach - Costa Rica

Guiones Beach is located between Nosara and Samara and is popular among surfers.

There are several surf shops in town where you can buy new or used surfboards. By now many surfers prefer to rent a board because of the increased fees charged by the airlines.

The Ostional Wildlife Sanctuary is close to Guiones Beach and there you can observe the turtles while they lay their eggs.

In 1995 5,000,000 turtles laid their eggs in the sanctuary, the biggest amount so far.

Turtles come to the beach the whole year, but manly during the rainy season. The best time to observe the turtles is between August and December.
